Winfluence Has a New Name, a New Home and a Bigger Tent — with Jason Falls

If you run a small business, the last thing you need is more marketing noise. You've got plenty. Your inbox has plenty. Your LinkedIn feed is basically a landfill of it.

What you need is people who trust you, recommend you and, when it's time to spend money, choose you. That's influence. And that's what Winfluence is about now. Well … it's what it was always about. I'm just finally saying it out loud.

In this episode, I explain what's changing with the show, what isn't, and why I think the change makes Winfluence more useful to you. Watch or listen below.

What's new with Winfluence

A new name: Winfluence with Jason Falls

The show is officially Winfluence with Jason Falls. The old subtitle, "The Influence Marketing Podcast," is retired. It boxed the show into one tactic, and the new name puts the focus where it belongs: on the outcome (influence) and on the guy you've been listening to all along.

Yes, putting my own name on the show feels a little like wearing a T-shirt with my own face on it. Trust me, the alternatives were worse.

If you're already subscribed, you don't need to do a thing. Your subscription will continue to deliver new episodes.

A new home: FallsPartners.com

New episodes, show notes and resources now live right here on FallsPartners.com. You can continue using winfluencepod.com to find the show.

Full disclosure: yes, this is my company's website. Winfluence is a production of Falls+Partners. I'm not going to pretend otherwise, and I'm not going to turn every episode into a commercial, either.

Broader topics. Same mission.

The subject matter is getting broader. The mission is not. This show is still about one thing: building the influence of your brand or your business.

I've said for years that my approach to this craft is centered on the influence … not the influencer. Influencers were one way to get there. They're still a great way. But they were never the only way. So going forward, Winfluence covers four ways to build influence, plus the one thread that runs through all of them.

1. Influence through influencers

Not going anywhere. Creators, creator partnerships, talent managers and, yes, the occasional rant about them. The grumpy old man isn't retiring. He's just got more to be grumpy about.

2. Influence through your own thought leadership and content

You are the most credible voice for your business. Most small businesses either don't use that voice or use it to talk about themselves. Neither one builds influence. We'll talk about making your expertise useful through your blog, newsletter, podcast, LinkedIn and speaking.

3. Influence in search, both traditional and agentic

SEO still matters. Now it also matters whether an AI assistant can figure out what you do, where you do it and how to hire you. Influence used to mean getting people to listen to you. Now it also means getting the software to recommend you. I don't love that sentence either, but here we are.

4. Influence through listening and understanding

Social listening, audience research and market intelligence are the foundation that makes the other three work. You can't influence people you don't understand. Well, you can try. It's called most advertising.

The thread through all four: responsible AI

AI shows up across all of it, as a tool and not a replacement for thinking. We'll talk about how to put better tools to work without surrendering your judgment to the software, and I'll be honest about the costs and tradeoffs, not just the hype.

Who Winfluence is for

Small-business owners and lean marketing teams. If you're the owner, the marketing department and occasionally the IT guy, this show is for you. If you're a three-person marketing team at a company that thinks you're a thirty-person marketing team, it's for you, too. Big-brand folks are still welcome. The advice scales; the jargon doesn't.

What to expect

Practical advice, candid conversations with smart guests and the occasional well-earned rant. Every episode tackles a real business problem and leaves you with something worth doing. I'm not promising a fixed weekly release schedule. I'll show up when I've got something worth your time.
